Nutrition Counseling

Stacey Simon, MS RD CSG CDN
I am a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist of over 8 years. I have worked with thousands of clients with a variety of nutrition concerns, including unintentional weight loss, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, heart health (including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease), and general wellbeing. I love to help clients improve their energy levels, reduce pain, and feel good in their bodies. As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I work with clients to help them improve their relationship with food and their bodies and to learn how to listen to their internal hunger and fullness cues to determine their nutrition needs. I practice through the Health at Every Size lens and believe that we can improve your health at any size. I am also a Board Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition, making me an expert in nutrition through the aging process; I specialize in nutrition in aging and love helping clients understand their specific nutrition needs.
I believe that my strongest attribute is my ability to connect with my clients through empowering them, helping them feel safe, and working with them to make lifestyle changes while developing a sense of self-compassion and grace. Nutrition should never require us to compromise joy; all foods can truly find a place in a balanced, nourishing diet.

Initial Intake
Our first meeting will be a thorough discussion of your history, medical conditions, concerns, relationship with food, goals, and more. Prior to this meeting, you will complete an in-depth intake questionnaire. I will likely ask you follow up questions and will work to understand you as best as possible. The intake session is usually 60 minutes. I provide treatment through telehealth only (video or phone).

Short term and long term treatment is available depending on your nutrition goals. Typically, sessions are weekly or bi-weekly at the start of treatment. Some clients prefer to continue frequent sessions to maintain their progress and address new issues or stressors. Others choose to schedule monthly sessions or as needed. You determine what is best for you. Sessions are usually 30 minutes. Most insurance plans cover nutrition counseling. Check with your insurance carrier for session limits and coverage benefits.
